Prior to his work with Tribune, Mr. Weitman was Executive Director/Corporate Communications at Allied Riser Communications Corp. From 1997 through 1999, he served as senior vice president/media relations at Hill and Knowlton, Inc., in Chicago. Mr. Weitman also spent 15 years in broadcast journalism, holding positions of increasing responsibility at the CBS- and FOX-owned television stations in Chicago, IL from 1982 to 1997. He left journalism in 1997, following three years as Managing Editor at WBBM-TV, where he was responsible for the TV station’s editorial coverage and all of its news broadcasts.
